Honing is a little Stock removing finishing Process with high bore accuracy and good surface finish. In Conventional Honing Process, the tool rotates, expands and Reciprocates simultaneously. Thus removing a little material from the bore inside, improving roundness, straightness and surface finish. Single pass honing process is passing the honing tool once in the bore. The tools are barrel shaped and pre-set with consecutively increasing size. The tool is passed through the bore while it is rotating. Conventional honing tool reciprocates, expands while honing and retracts after completion of cycle. While the Single Pass honing tool is passed once. The tools are diamond impregnated, adjustable and pre-set to size increasing in every consecutive pass. It does not expand and retract during the cycle.
